Let's face it. The Australian dollar has weakened incredibly amidst the global financial crisis. Stocks are plummeting. Rising unemployment. Families are stressing-out before Christmas about affording gifts. Even worse, some families in developing countries are struggling just to make ends meet. But there is no denying that a few good things come out of this too.
It is refreshing to see the observe the efforts taken particularly by the G20 countries to battle the world economic slow-down. A big hand-shake to the Australian government for formulating a stimulus package to boost consumer confidence. And an even bigger pat on China's back with their bigger stimulus package for infrastructure investments and post earthquake reconstruction. The Australian dollar may be weak, but at least this will attract the bargain hunting (don't we all) Chinese to invest in the Australian economy. There is also growth potential in the tourism industry in Australia as more foreigners will get more value for their respective currency. The Australian stimulus package is also further aimed combating the rising unemployments rates so in a way we can count our lucky stars that our jobs we hold are protected.
Of course, unfortunately not every country can afford to formulate such a stimulus package to help them through the current crisis. Hopefully the global team efforts taken will pay off eventually. Hopefully the ripple effect of the credit crunch that had started it all will be reversed. There will be challenges and tough times ahead. Currently it is everyone's first instincts to be cautious when it comes to spending but if you are lucky enough to have a government that introduces a stimulus package, my advice would be to go shopping. Go buy that pair of shoes you have always wanted. Help boost consumerism! After settling your credit card bills and mortgage of course.

THANKS Aby. And genuine thanks to cute little angel. :P I tend to get a bit passionate I suppose. Anyway the main point is to get people to be aware of the positive effects and be sparingly cautious about it.
